Birds Available for Adoption

Boo, Orange-winged Amazon and Sparky, Hahns Macaw- are best friends and it is critical that they be placed together. They will bite and they are unable to be handled, but with constant discipline could come around but should thrive in a home with someone for the first time. Boo speaks and whistles a tune. They like to be spoken to. Boo picks up on new phrases rather quickly and you have to be careful not to say anything repeatedly that you wouldn't want him saying in front of company. Boo is very protective of Sparky and will come to his "defense". Boo will also protect him if people try to touch Sparky.

Boo and Sparky like Lafebers™ Nutri-berries, fruit, vegetables, and table food, they should be in separate cages to prevent Sparky from plucking Boo. They come with a large (cockatoo size) cage, one smaller, food bowls, toys food, water & spray bottle.

Boo and Sparky are Very Loud.

Sun Conures, Cricket and Sunny
are 8 and 6 years old. They are very happy birds. They eat Zupreme, vegetable, crackers and roasted peanuts. They come with a cage. They must be adopted together. Cricket and Sunny would be great as first birds or in a small bird family.

Isis is a 5 year old, DNA-tested female Blue & Gold Macaw who is with her original owner.

Isis eats ZuPreem pellets and enjoys toys. She is very sweet around her family, but is nervous around strangers. The current owner's occupation requires him to be away from home for extended periods, and he feels that Isis needs more consistent attention.

Isis does damage the feathers around her neck, but does not have any other bad habits. Her cage is included.

Cockatiels
, Charlie and Charlotte, are thought to be male and female but have not been sexed. They are between 1 - 1 1/2 yrs old and are displaying mating behavior at times. They must be adopted together Charlie is very friendly, and will step up to come out of the cage.  Charlotte is more cautious and is not hand tame, although she will follow Charlie out of the cage.  With continued work these birds will make good companion birds.  Both birds have been converted to Zupreme Natural Maintenance pelleted diet with Goldenfeast Australian Blend as a snack.  These birds are presently in foster care.

Senegal, Missy, is 14 years old. She does not like being near other birds. Missy is somewhat able to be handled; she will step-up on a stick and could be a bit nippy.

Missy will need little work but, with time and patience, has the potential to be a good companion. Missy is fully feathered, sings and whistles, but does not scream.

Missy is in immediate need of foster care and a new home. She is eating a fruit, nut and pellet mix. She comes with a small cage.

Multiple Parakeets between the ages of 6 months and 11/2 yrs. same parents. They are very beautiful and all have a great deal of white with varied shades of sky blue, giving the appearance of clouds. With the black spots they are fantastic for anyone interested in having parakeets. Since they are so young they could easily be worked with to become wonderful pets. They eat a parakeet mix, fruit, and cereal. Cages are available.

Kali is an 8 year old female Blue & Gold Macaw in need of a new home. She has been on a varied pelleted diet and fruits and veggies diet. She is beautifully feathered and enjoy being with the family. Both are banned, and are perch and hand trained for step up. Kali has routinely had veterinarian care. She will be seen in the next few weeks, and her vet records will be available to the new owner. She has a large “Safeguard” cage, perches, toys, and food cups that will go with her. She does not have a gender preference. She has a great deal of out of cage time, has been in a bird room with two other birds, but enjoy playgrounds in other rooms with the family. She has had excellent care, lots of toys and foraging experience in a loving home. She is nervous with strangers and can be territorial. The owner has boarded her and she is fine with everyone. She should be placed with someone with large bird experience and should make a great pet with patience. She likes attention, will show her wings and looks to interact.

Harry
is a 22 year old female Yellow Naped Amazon. She is tame and friendly when she gets to know you but has not been getting an adequate amount of attention at her present home. She is on a diet of Zupreme Natural Maintenance and peanuts so fruits, veggies, and other healthy foods would have to be introduced. She comes with her cage and some toys. She is in good health and has seen the vet regularly for nails and wing. She does not have any known behavioral problems but would benefit from a person experienced with large parrots.

Archie and Kringle are White Bellied Caiques. They are both males between 4-5 years old. They can be placed in separate homes. They are currently caged together with a divider, but if they are placed in the same home it is recommended that they be caged separately as they can fight with each other. Both eat pellets as well as fruit and vegetables. Both birds have been handled by all members of the foster family. Kringle is very sweet and steps up easily. Archie can be nippy on occasion, but with some training and consistency will become an excellent pet. Archie also says his name. One cage is available to go with a bird and both come with a travel carrier.

Reiki is a femaleCongo African Grey; she is believed to be in her teen years. She is friendly and has come out of her cage at her foster home. She eats pellets as well as fruits and vegetables. She comes with her cage, a travel carrier and several adding machine tape rolls which she loves to play with. Reiki talks quite a bit and also mimics several sounds including the telephone and the sound of a clicker (used in clicker training). Reiki plucks her feathers, especially when she is anxious and will need a home with experienced bird owners to give her the love and attention she needs but will make an excellent pet.

Gugu is a 5 yr. old, unsexed, never clipped, Sun Conure. She has been owned by the same family since she was a baby. She is extremely beautiful with the most deep orange I have seen in a Sun. Gugu has been mostly in her cage with little handling for several years. She does not know the step up command but did come out of her cage when we opened it. She flew around and landed on her owner who was very quickly able to scrunch her head and cuddle. She will also come on to the owners hand when put near her. The owner said that she has not handled her for several years. I feel she has a lot of potential to be a “cuddle bun” with a new owner. She is quiet most of the time and will vocalize when people come in her home. She was very animated and interested in us during our visit. She is on a fruit pellet diet and enjoys fresh fruits. She is in a small cage which she will come with along with her toys and food.

Sam
is a 12 yr. old, male Cockatiel who has been with the same family his entire life. He has not been handled much or been out of cage in several years. He was interested in us and came out of his cage. Both my husband and I were able to handle him, and some head scrunching made him happy as well. He became nippy when it was time to go back in his cage. He will make and excellent companion for someone who can give him some out of cage time and attention. Sam is a sweet bird! He is on Kaytee pellet/seed mix. He comes with a cage, a few toys, and food.
