THE CONNECTICUT PARROT SOCIETY - PEOPLE FOR PARROTS! CPS offers members monthly opportunities to socialize, show their birds, learn about different parrot species, and exchange ideas about parrot care. Meetings are held in centrally located Middletown, Connecticut. Programs often include knowledgeable guest speakers or educational seminars. Additional membership privileges include informative newsletters, field trips, and eligibility to participate in the parrot adoption program.

Third Annual Featherfest
Saturday, March 20, 2010 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Admission: FREE (members), $5.00 (non-members), under 10 free Guest Speakers: 10:30 am: Susan Chamberlain, writer and columnist for Bird Talk magazine, Bird Keeping On A Budget.
12:30 pm: Dr. Harvey Cohen, chiropractic physician specializing in animal nutrition, Holistic and Natural Nutrition for Animals.
2:00 pm: Hope Douglas, founder/curator of Wind Over Wings,raptor rescue/rehab, Birds of Prey and an Eagle,Too.
* Check out the Ask the Vets booth for answers to your pet questions.
* Explore Alternative Pet Therapy/Care: visit with a Certified Avian Behaviorist and talk to Animal Communicators/Psychics, all of whom can provide pet consultations for a fee.
* Meet a bald eagle, owls, hawk, and more residents of Wind Over Wings.
* Enjoy the antics of our many live parrot species.
* Visit the vendors' booths displaying toys and toy-making materials, cages, play stands, perches, clothing, jewelry, and many other bird-related items.
* Take part in the teacup auction for bird-related and non-bird-related items, and the 50/50 raffle.

Meetings CPS meets the first Thursday of the month, with the exception of July and August. Wadsworth Glen Health/Rehabilitation Center Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for socializing. The speaker/program begins promptly at 7:15 p.m., followed by a brief CPS meeting.
We request that visitors, guests and non-members refrain from bringing birds. Members, please observe our Parrot Protocol when bringing your birds.
