THE CONNECTICUT PARROT SOCIETY - PEOPLE FOR PARROTS!


The Connecticut Parrot Society, Inc. (CPS) is the perfect place for people of all ages who are interested in parrots, or who already share their lives with them. Members include parrot owners, breeders, professional hand feeders, parrot rescue organizations and their volunteers, parrot specialty shop owners, online retailers, and veterinarians. A highly diversified, friendly, and engaging fellowship of parrot enthusiasts, CPS is a family-oriented society that welcomes everyone to join!

CPS offers members monthly opportunities to socialize, show their birds, learn about different parrot species, and exchange ideas about parrot care. Meetings are held in centrally located Middletown, Connecticut. Programs often include knowledgeable guest speakers or educational seminars. Additional membership privileges include informative newsletters, field trips, and eligibility to participate in the parrot adoption program.

Meetings

CPS meets the first Thursday of the month, with the exception of July and August.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for socializing. The speaker/program begins promptly at 7:15 pm, followed by a brief CPS meeting.

Take I-91 South to exit 22 S, onto Rte 9.
Exit Rte 9 at Rte 66 W (Washington St).
Follow 1.6 mi.
At 9th traffic light, turn left onto Boston Road.
1st building on left. Enter through the Main Entrance. 

From New Haven Area

Take I-91 North to exit 18, onto Rte 66 E.
Follow Rte 66 E for approx. 5 mi.
Just past Enterprise Rent A Car, take a Right at the Light onto Boston Road, 1st Building on left.
Enter through the Main Entrance.

From New Britain/West Hartford Area

Take Rte 9 S, exit at Rte 66W, follow directions above.

From Old Saybrook Area

Take Rte 9 N, exit at Rte 66W, follow directions above.

From Danbury Area

Take I-84 East to I-691. Follow I-691 eastbound, through intersection of
I-91 and follow directions above for Rte 66 E from New Haven area.

From Tolland/Manchester Area

Take I-84 West to I-91 South and follow directions from Hartford area.

Society Mission

The Connecticut Parrot Society, Inc. (CPS) promotes educating the public and its members about responsible keeping and breeding of parrots. As part of that mission, CPS provides information to its members and to the public concerning legislation and conservation issues impacting parrots in captivity and in the wild.
